Between the WIFI, wireless head devices, Ipads, cell phone towers & phones and the hundreds of other electronic gadgets we are exposed to in a single day....it is no wonder why so many of us are suffering. <br /><br />Here are some useful tips regarding cell phone use and things we can do to limit our exposure to a minimum. <br /><br />1. Invest in an air tube headpiece<br /><br />2. Put people on speaker. Anything to keep as far away from your head as possible<br /><br />3. Use your words. Text whenever possible, it limits the duration of your exposure and keeps the phone away from head and body<br /><br />4. Go offline. Make it a habit to turn phone of when ever its not in use<br /><br />5. Make the switch. If you must hold the phone to your head which in NOT ADVISED, switch ears frequently to limit the constant exposure.<br /><br />6. Keep an eye on the bars. Don't use your cell phone when the signal strength is low as it is working harder and sending out a stronger signal which means more EMF waves<br /><br />7.Keep it short as possible<br /><br />8. Avoid holding phone to ear when the call is dialing or trying to connect. One of the soups they serve their during the treatment protocol happens to be a great soup for detox in general. Although I am not a huge fan of white potatoes, anyone who knows about the Gerson Therapy knows that the organic potatoes is a main part of the healing diet. <br /><br />In a large stainless steak pot:<br /><br />1 bunch of organic celery stalks (6-8)<br /><br />1 bunch of organic bunch of parley<br /><br />1 1/2 pounds organic tomatoes<br /><br />2 medium onion<br /><br />a few garlic cloves<br /><br />1 pound of organic white potatoes<br /><br /><br />There is no need to peel the potatoes just scrub and rinse all the veggies in filtered water. <br /><br />Fill the pot 3/4 with reverse osmosis or distilled water and simmer for 2 hours. Take a vegetable mill and strain out the juice and leave the skins and pulp behind. I prefer angel hair so in this case the spiralizer is needed and quickest. <br /><br />Curried Almond Creme Alfredo Sauce:<br /><br />One Cup organic cashews, soaked is best for a hour or so<br /><br />6 fresh dates<br /><br />1.5 teaspoons organic curry powder<br /><br />dash of celtic sea salt<br /><br />1 large garlic clove<br /><br />1/4 cup filtered water<br /><br />Blend all together in food processor until a nice thick, creamy texture. This can be chilled and served on crackers or as a veggie dip. I must be crazy!! Here is a hummus that I love for and is so simple and easy to make. I don't have anything against chickpeas personally, but sometimes when I am on a more conscious carb diet and more raw, I opt for some different variations. Sprouting the chick peas is also a great idea, but requires time and energy which we all lack sometimes.<br /><br />1 large organic zucchini ( peeled well)<br /><br />1/2 cup raw organic tahini<br /><br />2 tablespoons raw coconut oil or olive oil<br /><br />1 teaspoon celtic or high quality unrefined salt<br /><br />1 large clove of garlic<br /><br />! teaspoon paprika.<br /><br />Blend all of these except paprika in a food processor with an s blade. Garnish with paprika and serve just like hummus with dried flax crackers, with raw veggies or on a wrap or roll. Injoy. I wanted to give you the down and dirty on why I have been MIA for the month of August. I am preparing for the spiritual fast of my life. My path of raw foods eating for the last four months and intensely clean lifestyle has lead to this time which is dedicated to a WATER ONLY FAST. I have cleared my work schedule, cleared all social engagements and have moved myself in the LOTUS BARN at Shadle Farm and I am going inward for as long as I can. The object of doing this fast is to shut the body down completely, giving it no fat, no sugar, nothing for the body to have to digest or break down-- so that my body will start to eat away at any residual toxins that are left in the fat layer of the body. It will be a time for my body and every cell to be cleansed at a level not achieved before and a rebirth and regeneration on every level. As the DETOX DIVA, I have tried almost every kind of fasting diet there is but never have I had the nerve to do an all water fast until now. I am ready to take my health to the next level of healing and I am faced with the FEAR, ANXIETY of the unknown. So here is my latest RAW RECIPE WITH IS SO DELICIOUS AND EASY TO PREPARE, its a MUST HAVE for your summer menu. Its 100 Raw, vegan and contains no RICE.<br /><br />In your food processor with the S blade,<br /> <br />Add 1/2 cup diced organic carrots<br /><br />1/2 cup organic cauliflower<br /><br />1/2 cups dried shredded coconut<br /><br />2 tbs Curry powder<br /><br />pinch of pink sea salt<br /><br />1/2 cup organic raisons<br /><br />and pulse until finely chopped and mixed.<br /><br /><br />For chutney.<br /><br />Soak 6-8 dates in half cup filtered water.<br /><br />Add dates and soaking water along with a handful of fresh mint<br /><br />and mix well in processor. <br /><br />In a large mixing bowl. Place the cauliflower mix and add chutney in the center. Garnish with Raw cashews on top. Soy has received mixed reviews, even though it has been eaten in ASIA for hundreds of generations without reported adverse effects and is a staple in vegetarian kitchens world wide. In its natural state, the soybean has proven to be high in nutritional value as a non-animal source of essential amino acids, qualifying as a complete plant protein. The controversy centers on 20th century isolation of the soybeans's compounds called isoflavonoids, that in in their natural state have been proven to have a host of health benefits from cancer-osteoporosis.<br /> Rather than use the whole food, the manufactured foods industry instead has added the compounds in isolated form to various products.<br /> Concerns arise because the isolated plant compounds act differently in the body when they lack the supporting vitamins, minerals and plant substances present in natural whole soy. Also their amount and concentration in manufactured foods tend to exceed what is present in whole soy. Straight up, Detox Diva says: Avoid all isolated soy compounds and anything that is GMO. If you must eat tofu or soy include, organic non gmo varieties of tofu, tempeh, edamame, miso, and soy sauces like nama shoyu. I still suggest limited all soy products to a few times a week at most, even if it is non gmo. Try soy alternatives like rice milk, help milk or almond milk if your hooked on SOYMILK daily. In a very small amount whole soy can be tolerated but for many people with food sensitivies or auto immune compromised systems, SOY in general is not good. try to cut back and see how your body feel. Always tune it and use your body as your guide. If you listen it will tell you everything you need to know. SIde note, I do not use soy at all in my diet, not even soy sauce. This is the latest, HOLY BASIL SPICED LATTE TEA.<br /><br />For tea:<br />One cup filtered water<br />1 teaspoon fennel seeds<br />1/2 teaspoon cumin<br />1/4 teaspoon cloves<br />1/2 teaspoon cardamom<br />1/2 teaspoon holy basil or tulsi<br />1/2 teaspoon Ceylon cinnamon<br />Pinch of vanilla<br />1 teaspoon lecuma powder.<br /><br />Add all ingredients and let simmer for 20 min at least<br /><br />For coconut Milk:<br /><br />1 cup coconut water<br />1/2 cup coconut meat<br />2 Tbsp Raisons<br /> <br />Blend and strain through nutmilk bag.<br /><br /> When Teas is done simmering strain into mug and add your coconut milk. <br /><br />This will give you a healthy boost in the morning and be much more satisfying than any coffee and would complete with any Starbucks latte. I am getting all of my vital nutrients for uncooked, unprocessed, ALIVE AND LIVING FOODS. The following recipe is on oldie but goodie and a great introduction to any one new to live foods. It is delicious and can be served in a variety of ways. I often make this raw dish and serve it with a side of mashed Sweet Potato or Russet, reminding me of my gramma's recipe. Try it for your family and see what they think. Just because the Meatloaf is raw, you can still serve it with some cooked foods is you like, such as potatoes, veggies,or on a sandwich. It is pure decadence when served a meat loaf sub served with Manna Bread or some other live sprouted bread and a side of Rawing Kale Chips. ( recipe can be found if you search my blog). So heres your ingredient list:<br /><br />1.5 cups walnuts<br />1.5 cups sunflower seeds<br />1.5 cups Almonds<br />1 tbsp minced garlic<br />1.2 tbsp celtic sea salt<br />1/2 cup chopped parsley<br />1/2 cup chopped onion<br />1/2 cup chopped celery<br />2 cups mushrooms ( optional)<br />1 tbsp ginger<br />1/2 tbsp dried rosemary<br />1 cup red bell pepper<br />1 tablespoon basil<br />1/2 cup olive oil<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Cover and soak all nuts and seeds in a bowl of filtered water for at least 4 hours. <br /><br />Drain and rinse well and put into food processor with garlic. Process until it becomes doughy adding olive oil to thin.<br /><br />Stir in remaining ingredients and mix well. <br /><br /><br />Form into a meat loaf shape and put in dehydrator or oven at 90-100 degrees for one hour. Best to use a dehydrator!!!<br /><br />Remove and add raw ketchup on top, or some other type of low sugar brand. In a pinch I use Westbrae NO SUGAR Ketchup with is fruit juice sweetened. <br /><br />Place back in dehydrator for another 2.5 hours. <br /><br />Remove and garish with parsley and ketchup and serve warm. Keep these simple ingredients as your "Emergency Arsenal" for after work or entertaining to dress your salads quickly and easily or to pour on top of pates or a sweet potato or veggie burger. It is so easy with only 3 ingredients but yet so yummy. All you need is <br /><br />1/4 cup raw tahini <br /><br />1/4 cup raw almond butter<br /><br />1-2 tablespoon of braggs amino acids or namo shoyu.<br /><br />In a bowl blend ingredients with just enough water to create a creamy consistency. Here is my latest recipe:<br />This is an excellent substitute for that cholesterol-laden, fattening, egg-based, vinegar and sugar filled store bought brands. For a healthier version use almonds instead of cashews, but blanch and take skins off to make it creamier.<br /><br />1 cup cashews, soaked 8 hours in 1/2 cup filtered water<br /><br />1 lemon, peeled, seeded and chopped<br /><br />3 Tablespoons chopped onion<br /><br />3 Tablespoons chopped red pepper<br /><br />1 clove garlic<br /><br />1 Tablespoon flaxseed oil<br /><br />1 Tablespoon fresh oregano<br /><br />2 teaspoons dulse flakes<br /><br />2 teaspoons liquid aminos<br /><br />1/2 teaspoon paprika<br /><br />pinch ground cumin<br /><br />pinch of curry<br /><br /> <br />After soaking nuts, combine cashews with water and blend until smooth. Add lemon, onion, red pepper, garlic, oil, oregano dulse, liquid aminos, paprika, cumin and curry. Blend. Use water if necessary to achieve desires consistency. Yields 1.5 cups dressing. It is YUMMMY and I have been using it to dip raw veggies in, on my avocado and sprout sandwiches and on everything. Many more recipes to follow. I have so much gratitude for the the life experiences and challenges that have made me the strong, warrior-like, feminine goddess than I am. We all are handed a different hand in life and it is very easy to fall into the trap of looking at others around us and be jealous or envious of how "EASY" things come for them, or how "Lucky in Love" they are or "Always upbeat and happy." I know we can all relate to this one level or another. I can honestly say, that I find myself at times looking my colleagues in the health care industry and "comparing" my health status or health regime and wondering why I cant be as "energetic' as they appear to be, or unstressed and calm and posed when doing an interview. I am the DETOX DIVA after all, shouldn't I be GLOWING 100 % of the time, never sick, never run down and full of bursting with energy with perfect elimination. After all, I am the QUEEN OF THE COLON too!!! Then I realize... I am human. What has make me the DETOX DIVA and a healer, is that I have struggled with my health which has brought be closer and closer to really understanding how to connect with real people, in a real way. You have no idea how many of my clients feel relieved when they hear that I still struggle at times with my health and energy. They feel less pressure that they need to be perfect 100% and that even very healthy, conscious minded individuals still have demons they must face. It is within these struggles where we sometimes uncover just how damn amazing and strong we really are. My struggles have been my single greatest teachers. I just needed to remind myself of this today and wanted to share this little thought with you. Its a little pep talk to myself.
