I had the pleasure of hanging at the Gerson Institute in San Diego and learning about the wonderful cancer treatment protocol from Charlotte Gerson herself. One of the soups they serve their during the treatment protocol happens to be a great soup for detox in general. Although I am not a huge fan of white potatoes, anyone who knows about the Gerson Therapy knows that the organic potatoes is a main part of the healing diet.
In a large stainless steak pot:
1 bunch of organic celery stalks (6-8)
1 bunch of organic bunch of parley
1 1/2 pounds organic tomatoes
2 medium onion
a few garlic cloves
1 pound of organic white potatoes
There is no need to peel the potatoes just scrub and rinse all the veggies in filtered water.
Fill the pot 3/4 with reverse osmosis or distilled water and simmer for 2 hours. Take a vegetable mill and strain out the juice and leave the skins and pulp behind. Eat immediately on consume within 2 days of making and keep in the fridge.
